Study N PLAY and Thea Study are excited to announce an official partnership for the 2024-2025 school year. Study N PLAY and Thea share a commitment to expanding access to education and are thrilled to be teaming up with each other to bring academic support resources to the greater Baton Rouge area

Education is the key to unlocking opportunities, but for student parents, the journey to academic success often feels like navigating an obstacle course with little support. That’s where Study N PLAY steps in—a beacon of hope and innovation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Now, with the power of Thea Study by its side, Study N PLAY is gearing up to revolutionize the way student parents learn, grow, and achieve their dreams during the 2024-2025 school year.

In Louisiana, 23% of undergraduates—52,148 students—are parents, including over 24,000 single mothers.

The stakes are high: research shows single mothers see a staggering 1,052% return on investment over their lifetime after earning an associate's degree. Yet, balancing parenthood and academics is no small feat. The greatest barriers? Time and access to resources.

That’s where Study N Play comes in. Study N PLAY is Baton Rouge’s first family-friendly study center, built to help student parents succeed. By offering fully equipped workspaces for parents and supervised play areas for children, Study N PLAY ensures that parents can focus on their studies while knowing their children are in good hands. Its members hail from institutions like Louisiana State University, Southern University, and Baton Rouge Community College, creating a thriving community of learners and dreamers.

Joining forces with Study N PLAY is Thea Study, a trailblazing online platform designed to make studying smarter, not harder. Thea leverages research-backed methods—active recall, spaced repetition, and gamified learning—to help students maximize their time and truly understand their materials. With over 350,000 users in 200+ countries and 80+ languages, Thea is a global leader in personalized education.

Together, Study N PLAY and Thea Study are tackling the core challenge of time. Thea’s AI-powered tools make studying more efficient, empowering students to achieve better results with less effort. Meanwhile, Study N PLAY provides the physical space and support that allows student parents to dedicate uninterrupted focus to their academics. This dynamic partnership ensures that student parents can pursue their education without sacrificing quality time with their children.

Student Intern, Amari Allen

As part of this groundbreaking collaboration, all Study N PLAY members will receive free, unlimited access to Thea’s suite of tools for the 2024/2025 school year. To further enhance the experience, Study N PLAY and Thea have welcomed Amari Allen (pictured above), a Computer Science major at Southern University and A&M College, as their student intern. Amari brings a passion for technology and problem-solving to her role, where she will onboard and support Study N PLAY members in making the most of Thea’s resources. Her dedication to learning and collaboration exemplifies the mission of this partnership: to empower students to thrive.

Study N PLAY and Thea Study are more than just partners; they are champions for student parents striving for a brighter future. Together, they’re rewriting the narrative for higher education in Baton Rouge, showing that with the right tools and support, students can achieve the extraordinary—for themselves and for their families.

This is more than a partnership; it’s a movement. And it’s just getting started!
